Blue water, an oval lake, quaking aspens, and a campground under tall trees: this was Sun Lake. I loved Sun Lake. I picked it as an ideal setting—both for novel and "for real." I added a cougar to the lake setting and had instant suspense. Now, when I read to children, I am aware of the intentness of a small child's face as I read Shadow at Sun Lake. This book is a favorite choice of children when they are allowed to pick their own reading material.
